確定PLC的生產(chǎn)廠家，主要應(yīng)該考慮設(shè)備用戶的要求、設(shè)計者對于不同廠家PLC的熟悉程度和設(shè)計習慣、配套產(chǎn)品的一致性以及技術(shù)服務(wù)等方面的因素。從PLC本身的可靠性考慮，原則上只要是國外大公司的產(chǎn)品，不應(yīng)該存在可靠性不好的問題。

個人認為，一般來說，對于控制獨立設(shè)備或較簡單的 控制系統(tǒng)的場合，配套日本的PLC產(chǎn)品，相對來說性價比有優(yōu)勢。對于系統(tǒng)規(guī)模較大網(wǎng)絡(luò)通訊功能要求高、開放性的分布式控制系統(tǒng)、遠程I/O系統(tǒng)，歐美生產(chǎn)的PLC在網(wǎng)絡(luò)通訊功能上更有優(yōu)勢。另外對于一些特殊的行業(yè)(例如：冶金、煙草等)應(yīng)選擇在相關(guān)行業(yè)領(lǐng)域有投運業(yè)績、成熟可靠的PLC系統(tǒng)。

PLC的輸入/輸出點數(shù)是PLC的基本參數(shù)之一。I/O點數(shù)的確定應(yīng)以控制設(shè)備所需的所有I/O點數(shù)的總和為依據(jù)。在一般情況下，PLC的I/O點應(yīng)該有適當?shù)挠嗔?。通常根?jù)統(tǒng)計的輸入輸出點數(shù)，再增加10％～20％的可擴展余量后，作為輸入輸出點數(shù)估算數(shù)據(jù)。實際訂貨時，還需根據(jù)制造廠商PLC的產(chǎn)品特點，對輸入輸出點數(shù)進行調(diào)整。

存儲器容量是可編程序控制器本身能提供的硬件存儲單元大小，程序容量是存儲器中用戶應(yīng)用項目使用的存儲單元的大小，因此程序容量小于存儲器容量。設(shè)計階段，由于用戶應(yīng)用程序還未編制，因此，微信公眾號PLC工程師能拿資料能漲知識能提技能程序容量在設(shè)計階段是未知的，需在程序調(diào)試之后才知道。為了設(shè)計選型時能對程序容量有估算，通常采用存儲器容量的估算來替代。

PLC存儲器內(nèi)存容量的估算沒有固定的公式，許多文獻資料中給出了不同公式，大體上都是按數(shù)字量I/O點數(shù)的10～15倍，加上模擬I/O點數(shù)的100倍，以此數(shù)為內(nèi)存的總字數(shù)（16位為一個字），另外再按此數(shù)的25%考慮余量。
